ACME Solar Adds 155 MW of BESS to India’s Energy Mix

ACME Solar Holdings (ACME Solar), through its subsidiaries, has commissioned an additional 155 MW / 470.25 MWh of battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity in Rajasthan, increasing its total commissioned capacity to 297.67 MW / 951.74 MWh.

These projects form part of the company’s broader plan to develop 835 MW / 3,114.64 MWh of BESS capacity across its special purpose vehicles (SPVs). The newly operational systems are connected to the inter-state transmission system (ISTS) and will function on a merchant basis, generating additional revenue by capitalising on price variations between peak and off-peak hours.

Designed to improve grid reliability, the BESS can store energy during periods of low demand and release it during peak consumption, effectively balancing supply and demand while enhancing overall grid stability. This deployment not only optimises energy utilisation but also strengthens the resilience of Rajasthan’s power infrastructure.

The expansion highlights ACME Solar’s continued focus on advancing sustainable and innovative energy solutions in India.
